Find your situation and see the fix

Stood outside your own front door

Non destructive entry is always our first move, so nine times out of ten the door stays untouched.

Keys gone missing

We get you back inside first, then work out whether a fresh key or a lock change makes more sense.

Key snapped clean in half

The broken piece comes out without drilling, then we cut a replacement while we are there.

Lock will not turn

Could be the cylinder, could be the mechanism, we check both before deciding on a fix.

A lock well past its best

Plenty of the older houses around Finchley still run their original locks, worth upgrading before they fail.

Never had a lock fitted right

New door, gate or shed, we install it properly and prove it locks before leaving.

UPVC door needs a lift to lock

Almost always the handle or cylinder rather than the door itself, we work out which.

UPVC door jamming against the frame

The gearbox is normally to blame here, and swapping it out clears the problem completely.

Wanting better security

Anti snap hardware closes the gap that older cylinders leave wide open.

Dealing with a break in

Securing the property comes first, then we sort whatever locks and hardware need replacing.

Giving trusted access without a key

A properly fitted key safe beats a spare hidden under a plant pot.

Local to Finchley

Three centres, one patch we know well
Finchley is unusual in having three separate high streets rather than one. East Finchley, Finchley Central and North Finchley meet loosely around Tally Ho Corner on the North Circular, and that spread means the housing varies a lot over a short distance. Older terraces near Nether Street and Long Lane still tend to run original mortice locks, while newer flats towards North Finchley more often bring us out for a UPVC gearbox.
Long Lane itself connects East Finchley and Finchley Central, passing the small nature reserve at Long Lane Pasture, and the whole area sits well within reach of the Northern line and the Phoenix Cinema on the High Road. We are out along Ballards Lane, Regent Park Road and Squires Lane often enough that reaching any of the three centres rarely takes long.

Where you'll find us

The hardware side

Locks and brands we see across N2, N3 and N12
Between the three centres, Finchley throws up a proper mix of hardware: mortice locks, euro cylinders, night latches and full UPVC multi point systems. We regularly fit Yale, Chubb, Banham, Ingersoll and Mul T Lock hardware, along with 5 lever BS3621 deadlocks where a property needs to meet insurance requirements. Master key suites and restricted key sections come up often too, particularly for the larger period houses and managed buildings dotted around the area.
